8th grade is in full swing with remote learning! It has been great to see students' faces and have interactions with them again! Mr. Blankenship, Mrs. Babes, Ms. Scheiber, and myself are all posting weekly learning schedules and daily assignemnts on our co-taught Google Classrooms. We are also available Monday-Friday for students via email and during our office hours. My office hours are Monday-Friday 12:00-3:30 PM.
In ELA, we have had great discussions with Mr. Blankenship on themes related to our next unit: Utopian/Dystopian Societies.
In Math, we are progressing with Mrs. Babes through Chapter 6 of the Algebra Curriculum, learning about compounded interest, exponential growth, and exponential decay.
In Science, we are wrapping up our unit on Magnetism with Mrs. Scheiber and progressing into the next unit on Electricity.
As I'm sure you have all heard by now, Governor Pritzker has decided to shut down schools throughout the remainder of the school year. While this is sad news for all of us here at Budlong, we understand it is in the best interest for the safety of our students, staff, and community.
I am offering follow up small group video chat sessions to any students who would like further assistance on any of the daily activities that we are completing, I highly suggest students to attend these follow up sessions! Kudos to those of you who are already participating in these optional sessions!
